If there is one thing that Belizeans know it is their food. Dreddi reports that rice and beans should under no circumstance be confused with beans and rice. To the neophyte this distinction may be lost but to the epicurean will know that although both are delicious they are by no means the same thing. And that is just the beginning, Belizean food is by no means one dimensional, it is influenced by Mestizo, Mayan and African culture leading to such unique dishes as escabiche, dukuno, patties, cut-a-brute, and the list goes on. Writing about these foods will make the Belizean living abroad long for their homeland; for the curious traveler these are just some of the memories that will be made in Belize.
