Butane Price Goes Down, The Pricing Scheme

Decrease in controlled price of Butane
Belmopan – 19 May, 2009
In response to acquisition costs, the Government of Belize has approved a decrease of three dollars ($3.00) in the Maximum Retail Price of a Hundred Pound (100 lb) Cylinder of Butane (Domestic) Gas with effect from today Tuesday, 18 May, 2009.
Accordingly, the new prices to take are as follow:

The decrease in price is based on average FOB acquisition cost recently reported by the major importers of domestic butane gas.
The Government of Belize will keep the FOB import prices for butane gas under review and make further changes in the controlled prices as may be appropriate while at the same time protecting the interests of the consumer.
