Belize Earthquake Update: Five Confirmed Dead.

This update from Reuters confirms that at least five are dead following the 7.1 earthquake this morning.

Honduras, Belize, and Guatemala being the most affected.  The tsunami alert has been lifted and witnesses in Belize confirm there was “no wave activity”.  Power outages continue in Southern Belize, and the Roatan of Honduras. The reported deaths were children crushed while sleeping in their home near Roatan, Honduras.

“For the most part, damage was minimal, but we are concerned about the damage to the village of Monkey River. We understand that at least five houses have been damaged and that utility poles were also toppled…
