Submitted by on Tuesday, 2 June 20093 Comments

In another Belize News Post exclusive we have images of Wednesday’s earthquake damage in Monkey River Town, Southern Belize. Many of the most damaged houses were those on stilts. Many other homes where badly shaken and cracked, foundations ruined.

This is only one of many houses that suffered.

This is only one of many houses that suffered.

Obviously, the earthquake damage in this small Belizean town is not as horrific as the damage in Honduras, but the earthquake damage in Belize will still have a giant impact on the local economy and the people who depend on it. Belize News Post also have more images of the earthquake damage in the village of Plancencia.

Belize News Post would like to give a special thanks to our community member Wil Maheia for letting Belize News Post use his images of the earthquake damage in Monkey River, Belize. Wil asked that we link to The People’s National Party Online. If anyone else would like to share some stories or news from Belize following the earthquake please share some comments or contact Belize News Post, we would love to hear your story.
