Government of Belize Changes Controlled Price of Butane, Goes Up
Butane prices which are controlled by the Government of Belize are going up. See the new pricing scheme.

CHANGE IN CONTROLLED PRICE OF BUTANE
Belmopan – 15 June, 2009
In response to acquisition costs, the Government of Belize has approved an adjustment in the Maximum Retail Price of a Hundred Pound (100 lb) Cylinder of Butane (Domestic) Gas with effect from Friday, June 12, 2009.
Accordingly, the new prices to take are as follow:

The change in price is based on average FOB acquisition cost recently reported by the major importers of domestic butane gas.
The Government of Belize will keep the FOB import prices for butane gas under review and make further changes in the controlled prices as may be appropriate while at the same time protecting the interests of the consumer.
