Authentic Belizean Tambran Drink Recipe – Refreshing and Flavorful!

Made with tangy tamarind and a hint of spice, it’s the perfect way to beat the heat and enjoy the taste of the Caribbean. Serve over ice with a slice of lime or a splash of coconut milk for a creamy twist.

Belizean Tambran drink recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 cup tamarind pods
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Crack open the tamarind pods and remove the seeds.
  2. Place the tamarind pulp and water in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and strain through a fine mesh sieve.
  5. Add the cinnamon stick, nutmeg, allspice, and sugar to the pot and return to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the sugar is dissolved and the spices have infused the mixture.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  8. Let cool and serve over ice.
