Snacks and street food overlap almost entirely here, and most of these are sold from stalls and roadside windows rather than cooked at home.
The Belizean fried-tortilla family leads: panades, garnaches, salbutes and tostadas, with cheese dip and conch ceviche beside them. Coconut sweets such as tableta and coconut crust count as snacks too.
From the wider region come Honduran baleadas and catrachas, Jamaican beef patties and Cuban croquetas. Several are filling enough to be a light meal.
